Steve...thanks for placing a link to HPS on your (we)blog - like most things on the planet, we need all the friends we can gradually acquire.

...I must take issue with this (your) statement though " Another site to visit when you feel like browsing without accomplishing anything of value"

As avid students of the Diamond Sutra, our intention is to ALWAYS place meaning (of some sort) into every single thing that graces our flat and (normally) vertical website.

In other words, there are actual real meaningful reasons why certain graphics, headlines, text, music, etc are placed on Houseplant Picture Studio

The divine genius William Blake's advice was to "attend to the minute particulars"

In The Word it says:

"For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."
Matt 5:18

At HPS we try to attend to the minute "jots and tittles" and try to pour importance and value into every single itsy-bitsy thing we do.

We just posted the 2nd part of a photo feature called "PHOTOS OF AN UNKNOWN FAMILY WHO PROBABLY OWNED A LIQUOR STORE" - the photos are kind of funny, but also touching in a real, human way...full of value, I think.

good luck on your site + thanks again - k. benbenek in alamitos beach, CA

Please accept my apologies for throwing out a trite phrase "without accomplishing anything of value", and allow me to replace it with "while triggering smiles, memories and laughter from unexpected places of your soul".

The PHOTOS OF AN UNKNOWN FAMILY is pure nostalgia, and I could swear I can pull photos out of my albums that are identical, save the faces of the subjects. Something quite unifying about that!

In summary, your site is hardly a waste of time, and obviously brings great joy to you, as well as those of us who stumble across it. Consider me a friend with the intention of letting others find your creation.
